Nipple Inversion

Request a Consultation Before & After Photos

Nipple inversion is a relatively common condition. Many women with inverted nipples suffer embarrassment for years, only to find out that the condition is easily corrected with simple plastic surgery in Sacramento.

Nipple inversion means the nipple puckers inward instead of projecting outward. As long as it's present from puberty, the condition is nothing to worry about. It can be corrected with a minor procedure that releases the tissue tethering the nipple downward. A single stitch is placed to keep the nipple everted, or raised, and this suture dissolves in about two weeks.

Should you have nipples that appear normal and develop an inversion of one or both nipples after puberty, you should have your breasts promptly and carefully evaluated. This could indicate breast disease or even cancer.
