Sacramento Breast Reduction Questions
Most women have many questions about the Sacramento breast reduction procedure. It's natural to be confused about technical terms, concerned about risks and just curious about life after your procedure.
Here are answers to some of the questions Dr. Kaufman and Dr. Clark hear most often.
Will my nipples have to be removed?
Nipples are not removed and grafted into a new location except in very rare situations. Dr. Kaufman and Dr. Clark use the pedicle technique, which allows the nipple to be repositioned while remaining attached to its nerve and vascular system. Will the procedure affect my nipple sensation?
After healing, most women find their nipple sensation unchanged. In a small percent of cases sensation may be reduced.
Does a breast lift require another procedure?
One surgery will suffice for both breast reduction and breast lift in Sacramento at Kaufman & Clark Plastic Surgery. Most women who seek breast reduction also need a lift - your plastic surgeon will show you how they'll address your needs during the planning process.
Will I be able to breastfeed after surgery?
Dr. Kaufman and Dr. Clark make every effort to preserve as many milk ducts as possible during breast reduction surgery, and most women are able to breastfeed afterward. There's no guarantee, however.
Is there any way to know what my scars will be like?
Scars are inherently unpredictable; unfortunately there's no way to know in advance how yours will look. For the vast majority of women scars fade to be quite faint over time. Patients normally report that their scars are a very acceptable tradeoff for smaller, perkier breasts. Browse our breast reduction before and after photos to see some examples.
